The Pongal festival was organized by the Assistant Commissioner of Local Government of 
Ambarai District on 10.01.2024 at Ambari with the participation of 18 local councils of 
Ambarai District under the guidance of the Honorable Governor of Eastern Province. 
Karaitivu Pradeshiya Sabha participated in all the 4 competitions held in the event and 
received 4 winning trophies.

It won trophies by winning 1st place for the excellent Pongal competition, 
2nd place in the kolam putting and poomala tying competitions and 3rd place in the separate 
Bharatanatyam competition.
